About Helms Roark

Bill Helms began in the commercial real estate brokerage, development and construction business in Auburn-Opelika, Alabama. Through his association with a commercial real estate company and regional general contractor, Bill was involved with either the development, construction or site brokerage of over 30 shopping center projects in five states. Previously, Bill worked in cost accounting with a manufacturing firm. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Business/Finance.

Ray Randall Roark, CPM, began the real estate brokerage business in Montgomery, Alabama in 1972, working with Lowder Realty/Colonial Properties, Munford, Inc. and Winter Company until 1978 at which time he formed his own company, The Roark Company, Inc. Duties and responsibilities of The Roark Company were to originate, lease and develop strip shopping centers throughout the Southeast. Other duties included the acquisition of commercial properties for national corporate clients. The Roark Company also specialized in the acquisition, market analysis and leasing and management of shopping center and income producing properties for outside developers and syndicators. Randy was involved in the leasing and/or development of over 1,000,000 sq. ft. of shopping center space prior to the formation of Helms Roark, Inc. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1970 with a B.F.A. in Commercial Design and Advertising.

Maggie began her career at Deloitte and Touche in Birmingham. She moved to Montgomery and began working for Warren Averett in 2003. She is also the Executive Director/Co-Founder of Girls on the Run South Central Alabama. She joined Helms Roark in 2019. Maggie graduated from Auburn University in 2000 with a Masters in Accountancy.
